THE IMPORTANCE OF AUTOMOTIVE MAINTENANCE & REPAIR

An average of 84% of all vehicles that have routine inspections or maintenance require service or repairs.  Some services are minor such as windshield wiper blades, however, the majority of this average are much more serious and most don’t realize will cost them a lot more down the road in repairs, many of which could have been avoided had they just taken the time to perform low cost maintenance.

The most common and damaging issues to the vehicles engine are the lack of or worn fluids, air filters and belts that need replacement.   Both of which can be accomplished on a do it yourself basis.    Oil is essential to long engine life, you should get in the habit of checking it if you don’t already.   Worn oil can be a killer and not give your internal engine parts the protection they need, especially in hot weather.   Coolant is also extremely important.  A lack of coolant can cause your engine to overheat and result in your engine becoming powerless.  Power steering fluid, transmission fluid, and brake fluid are all things critical in performance and safety.

We believe many repairs and replacements can be avoided. In our maintenance routine, we test your battery to tell you exactly how much life is left.   If your battery is almost shot, it is so much cheaper to replace it while it is still working, and prevent roadside assistance.   Because we perform roadside assistance, this is typical and in most cases, the breakdown occurs in a very unsafe area in addition to the expense of the onsite service or tow.  Visual inspections by our professional technicians can prevent breakdowns such as looking for frayed belts or hoses that are worn.

Be sure to find out, too, if your car has a timing belt or chain. Most that have belts call for replacing them prior to 100,000 miles.   Most believe you don’t need to replace your timing belt until it breaks, and most of the time they are looking at an entire engine replacement when this happens.

Call us and make an appointment.  We will provide you with an inspection to include any repairs that need to be completed with a cost breakdown before any service is completed.
