Athens is a great town. It is after all called "The Friendly City". There are many fun things to do in or near Athens. Because of it's central location (half way between Knoxville & Chattanooga and not far from the Great Smoky Mts.), residents don't have far to go find even more activities.
Athens has several industries and it also has many farms. The two intertwine in a big way when you talk about Mayfield's Dairy. Tennessee Wesleyan College is located near the center of town and the courthouse square has several nice personal businesses. Should you be traveling in our neighborhood, you should stop and visit Athens. We have great places to eat, sleep and just kill time.
