Diagnostic & Other Tools
In today's world of computers and high speed technology, the person working on your vehicles has to be more than a mechanic, he or she has to be a technician as well. Here at Friendly City Auto Care, we are working hard to provide you with the most recent technology. We have up-to-date diagnostics tools and we provide our employees with continuous training.
Below is a list of the diagnostic scan tools we use and a brief description of what they are used for.(Some of the tools are listed on the page, Our Facility, but they are described in detail here.)

Tool List & Descriptions
MAC MENTOR 2.0--Reads diagnostic codes on Domestic, Asian & European vehicles . It can also test things like fuel injectors and fuel pressure.
Midtronics Analyzer--Tests batteries, alternators and can determine if your electrical problem is related to one of them or to some sort of wiring problem.
NGS Diagnostic System--Tests Ford vehicles with more accuracy than the Mentor. This is the same tool that is used by the dealerships. It can also be used to update your vehicle's computer system, if updates are available and it can program your keys if you need a replacement key.
Tech2--This tool is the same as the one that GM dealers use. It can read diagnostic code and much more. With this tool, we can reflash your vehicles computer and install any updates that manufacture has released to make your vehicle perform at its best. We can also program keys when you need an extra or have problems with the original key.
Identifix--This a online service that we use that has helpful information on technical problems related to today's vehicles. The service has a data base of information from dealers and repair shops across the country and is very helpful in pinpointing causes to recurring and/or unusual problems.
